A Tale of Two Rebellions (Maybe a Third?)

If at once we take the action described in the Declaration of Independence, then we will have declared the function of the Constitution to be dead. And even if our intent is to resurrect it, history has shown that rebellions, once begun, rarely achieve the idealistic causes from which they spring.
